National Volunteers’ Week

You may not even be aware but this week it’s all about you – it’s National Volunteers’ Week!  This is a national event held every year in early June to celebrate and promote the amazing achievements of volunteers up and down the country.  Yet again we’ve seen another fantastic year for volunteering at the Trust, as numbers have grown, the range of activities has expanded, and volunteer satisfaction has risen. I wanted to say a huge Thank you to each and every one of you for what you give to the Trust, the waterways in our care, and the people who depend upon them.  No matter what your role, or the regularity of your volunteering with the Trust, it all helps us to achieve so much more than we could otherwise, and take further steps towards achieving our vision of living waterways that transform places and enrich lives.

The Trust offers a huge range of volunteering opportunities and it’s great to be able to meet so many of you when I’m out and about up and down the country.  The enthusiasm, passion and commitment I see is something I am exceptionally proud of.  With your ongoing support, we can achieve so much more together in the future.
