Greenfield Canal Volunteers Project Day -Saturday 31st August

Before we give the details about this Saturday's project day we need to let you know that the date we had planned for Thursday 12th September has unfortunately had to be cancelled. Gill is away and there is no one available from Canal and River Trust to provide supervision.

On a more positive note, building on the success of the community larder planters at Royal George Mills, we've obtained permission to install two planters at the Marina, Greenfield. These are presently being fabricated and should be ready for us to fill and plant up by the end of September .... more to follow on this.

We are still meeting this Saturday 31st August at 10am at Division Bridge on the Greenfield/Mossley border of the towpath. Access by car is via Calf Lane, off Manchester Road and parking is available at the cricket club.

We will be continuing with the work of widening and stoning up the footpath. There are also other jobs such as litter picking, cutting back nettles/brambles and brushing down steps to be done. All equipment will be provided but please wear clothing/footwear suitable for the weather conditions on the day.

We  you are able to join us but if you can't make it this time our future project dates for 2019/2020 are below:

September - Saturday 28th
October - Tuesday 8th & Saturday 26th
November - Thursday 7th & Saturday 23rd
December - Saturday 14th
January 2020 - Saturday 11th & Tuesday 21st

Thank you again and we hope to see you soon.
