Greenfield Canal Towpath Taskforce Project Day - Saturday 5th December
We will be making a start on getting the new fence posts into the ground but there are also other tasks such as brushing down steps, picking up litter and cutting back brambles/nettles that always need to be done. Equipment will be provided but please wear clothing and footwear suitable for the weather conditions on the day
This will be our last meeting of 2015 and on behalf of Street Scene Greenfield we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support of this project over the last year, in whatever form that has taken. In addition to our ongoing activities of laying stone, litter picks, balsam bashing etc we have diversified over the last year with the introduction of painting/maintenance of the 3 sets of lock gates, fencing repairs and we hope work on the wash walls in the not too distant future. Volunteers have given over 300 hours of their time in support of the project this year and a further 54 tonnes of stone have been laid taking the total since we started to 123 tonnes - quite an achievement we're sure you'll agree!
