Greenfield Canal Volunteers Meetup - Saturday 10th October 2026
October 10 @ 10:00 - 13:00
We will be meeting at 10am on Saturday 10th October at Lock 16W, which is by the towpath entrance from Manchester Road, Mossley, OL5 9BG across the road from The Tollemache Arms. If you're arriving by car there is parking available on nearby streets. Please see map below - meeting point marked with red X.
Our main task will be cutting back and removing overgrown vegetation, but there are always other jobs such as litter picking and clearing/brushing down steps that need to be done too.
All equipment will be provided but please wear clothing/footwear suitable for the weather conditions on the day.
If this weekend isn't convenient for you dates for the rest of this year and early 2027 have now been agreed and we hope you'll be able to come along and join us:
October 2026 - Tuesday 20th
November 2026 - Saturday 14th & Tuesday 24th
December 2026 - Saturday 5th
January 2027 - Saturday 9th & Tuesday 19th

If you have ideas on how we can improve your volunteering experience, activities we can undertake or improvements that can be made on our adopted section on the towpath do let me know.
We hope to see you soon.
