A Special Thank You to Greg

Boarshurst Band Club was filled with grateful members of the community on 5th September all wanting to celebrate the contribution that Greg Barratt has made to our neighbourhood through his role as Community Champion at Tesco. Over 15 years he has continuously supported GGRA, Street Scene Greenfield, Uppermill Community Action Network, Oldham Mountain Rescue Team and Greenfield and Uppermill Whit Friday Band Contests, amongst many more local organisations.

Greg (who has two MBE's) was invited by organiser Peter Lowe to a "Street Scene meeting", not realising that he would be the star of the show, receiving cards, gifts and wonderful buffet with a special cake in his honour, all to say thank you. Delighted to also welcome his successor in the role of Community Champion, Rasheeda Rangwala and Acting Manager Ryan Jeffcoate, who both cannot have failed to appreciate the high esteem with which their colleague is held in the community.

We wish Greg all the best in his new role at Tesco.
